I'm Peggy B., the breeder behind Critter Love® Anatolians located in Beeville, TX. Our dogs are bred for work, health, structure and temperament with the ability to enter the show ring if you so desire. Anatolian's first and foremost must be great livestock guardian dogs and that is what we focus on when raising a litter.
Q. & A. with Peggy
Why did you start breeding?
We moved onto a 20 acre ranch with some goats, chickens, peacocks, pigs and micro mini cattle and needed a good dog to protect them from the coyotes, racoons, opossums and skunks.
We were introduced to the Anatolian and quickly fell in love.
What makes your program special?
Here at Critter Love we are passionate about the breed and the working ability of the Anatolian Shepherd.
Striving to keep the health, structure and standards of the breed as close to the original standards as possible.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

About Pyronia
Pyronia is an exceptional guard. She covers micro mini cattle as well as Nigerian Dwarf Goats. The greatest temperament of any dog I have met. When not in working mode, she is just wanting to get some much needed rest.
Excellent health testing
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI), Hip Dysplasia Finals (OFA, PennHIP, BVA, SV, FCI), +1 more.
Parent health testing
Breeder-Reported Testing
Excellent level
Critter Love® Anatolians reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Anatolian Shepherd Dogs.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
