I'm Julia C., the breeder behind Crown Setters located in Caledonia, MN. We proudly produce AKC Registered, titled, and health-tested English Setters for show, performance, companion, and hunting homes. All of our dogs are bred to excel in performance or pet homes. Parents have their AKC champion titles and OFA health tested before breeding and many of our dogs have AKC pointing Hunt titles and obedience titles. All our dogs live in our home, and our puppies are raised there.

Why did you start breeding?
When I purchased my first English Setter it was as a pet only, but my breeder encouraged me to give AKC dog shows a try and I joined my local all-breed kennel club, enrolled in classes to learn how to handle my dogs, and after my first dog show I was hooked. I never intended to breed a litter but was encouraged to do so by my dog's breeder, now I breed to help preserve our beautiful breed.What makes your program special?
I breed for health, temperament, and personality first! My goal is for every dog in my breeding program to have their AKC championship and a performance title.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include blue belton, orange belton, and blue belton and tan (tri-color). Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA), Congenital Deafness (BAER, registered with OFA)
