I'm Cathy S., the breeder behind CrystalBay Doodles located in San Diego, CA. At CrystalBay Doodles, we offer top quality Goldendoodles to loving and caring homes. I am a breeder/trainer for well over 30 years. I have trained performance dogs, show ring, service and easy to live with companion dogs. All our litters are raised the same, in our loving home with an 8 week agenda planned from day 1. We begin Early Neurological Stimulus at 3 days old. Once their eyes and ears open, about 2 weeks, your puppy begins potty training. By 3 weeks these little babies have a grasp on where to eliminate. Slowly we introduce new toys (size, texture, sounds.) This is the Bambi stage. Crate training follows along with loose leash training. By 6 weeks we have an good idea which puppy would excel in the lifestyle of their new forever homes. At 8 weeks, which is the most difficult, we say our goodbyes and the puppy says its hello.
Q. & A. with Cathy
Why did you start breeding?
I have bred Champion Labrador retrievers for over 25 years. As my dogs retired and eventually crossed the rainbow bridge, I began considering my search for a breed that has a sweet temperament, is genetically sound, and has low to no shedding. The Goldendoodle breed is a great addition to any family!
What makes your program special?
We are a small breeder of Goldendoodles. We produce only a few litters each year, unlike some of the larger breeding programs. However, we are able to shower our puppies with love and affection. They are truly members of my family. and I cannot imagine my home without a Goldendoodle.
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include cream and apricot. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
