Meet the breeder

I'm Jarrod A., the breeder behind CzechDDR located in Ashland, AL. We are a small breeder in the South East focused on the preservation of the Czech GSD Working Lines. We selectively choose our Stud's pedigree which best accents our Dams for Sire. All of our litters are whelped inside of our home and are raised indoors amongst us until weened.

Q. & A. with Jarrod

  • Why did you start breeding?

We thoughtfully began our breeding program with our foundation female, Georgia. She is a Qvido Vepeden Granddaughter. When Georgia was almost two years old we planned and collaborated with Cain De' Lup kennels, whose program matched our long-term goals. The Sire we chose for our initial breeding was personally selected based on Temperament, Drive and a Great Off Switch. We are fortunate to have worked with Alex of Caine De' Cup Kennels of Cummings Georgia to accomplish our first breeding.
  • What makes your program special?

We have chosen to operate and manage an All female kennel. Female German Shepherds naturally want to be part of the pack, not the leader of it. This suits us quite well as all of our girls live amongst us, in and out of our home, meeting family and friends and of course, riding in our vehicles to go anywhere. This flexibility allows us to meet and work with Working Line Kennels whose studs match our future pedigree and litter goals.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies have stock coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include sable and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

We had an absolutely exceptional experience purchasing our Sable German Shepherd from Jarrod, and we couldn’t be happier with our new furry family member! From the moment we found Jarrod on GoodDog.com,m , Jarrod exceeded our expectations in every way. His communication was outstanding—prompt, clear, and always reassuring. Jarrod took the time to understand our needs and preferences, ensuring we were matched with the perfect pup. What truly sets Jarrod apart is his reliability and dedication as a breeder. He was incredibly responsive, patiently answering all our questions with knowledge and care. His transparency throughout the process gave us complete confidence, and it’s clear he’s passionate about breeding healthy, well-tempered German Shepherds. Our Sable is everything we hoped for—beautiful, intelligent, and already showing such a wonderful personality. Jarrod was so great to work with throughout the entire process. Very knowledgeable and helpful as we prepared to bring our puppy, Ares home. Was also fantastic at providing frequent updates as we waited for his pick up day. Jarrod will always be my first recommendation for anyone looking for a German shepherd puppy and is the only breeder I will go to in the future.
