I'm Joseph D., the breeder behind Dailey Bassett Hounds located in Sharon Grove, KY. Our dogs are bred for health and temperament, with a focus on being a good family member! They are socialized early with a variety of people young and older. Our dogs are well adjusted happy and most importantly healthy! You only have to care for them and love them as much as they love you!

Why did you start breeding?
I had a Bassett Hound when I was a child. He was stolen when he was 3 years old. I was crushed and swore I would never own another one. My regular riding companion was a rescue and passed when he was 16 years old. I decided if I were going to get another dog I wanted another Bassett Hound.For my 50th Birthday I bought Rupert and later bought Hazel. This is how I got started with breeding.What makes your program special?
My fur babies are not just pets to me. They are literally my babies! I treat them as such and my Grand children always look forward to seeing them. My puppies are now 3 weeks old and they are potty training with puppy pads. It’s truly amazing that they know that they shouldn’t be using the potty where they sleep.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include lemon and white and mahogany and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Price
“The price includes: AKC registration, puppy will be microchipped, first round of shots, deworming, veterinary examination and plenty of socialization. Puppies are using pee pads. Deposits are no refundable. You pay that when you pick a puppy. Balance is due when the puppy is picked up. Reason for deposit is to hold the puppy you choose. If you change you mind, I will need to start the process over for that puppy.”

Hazel is a fun loving little lady. I couldn’t have special ordered a better mother for her babies! Her and Rupert act like a married couple. She enjoys getting out acting goofy with the other animals!

Rupert is an old soul. He is very interested in his babies! He listens pretty well for a Bassett. Of course he has his stubborn streaks as well. He is very fit for a four year old. We have a big farm and he roams the whole thing.
