I'm Rose L., the breeder behind Dark Sky Kennels located in Sheridan, AR. I’m a dog trainer focused on developing high-drive, stable dogs for sport and active homes. I’ve trained in scent work, agility, and FastCAT, and have hands-on experience raising and fostering puppies. My goal is to produce capable, well-rounded dogs with strong temperaments.

Why did you start breeding?
I started breeding out of a passion for working dogs and training. My focus is on producing dogs with strong drives, stable temperaments, and the ability to excel in training, sport, and active homes.What makes your program special?
I keep a very small, intentional program with only 1–2 litters per year. My focus is on quality over quantity, raising puppies in my home with hands-on training, socialization, and exposure from an early age.What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Working Dog Cross puppies include large and medium sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Getting a puppy from Rose
Rose has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
Rose partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 7 weeks old.
“Puppies are matched to homes based on drive, confidence, and temperament. I assess each puppy’s working ability and personality to place them in the most suitable environment, whether that’s sport, active companion, or experienced handler homes. Matching is done in the best interest of the puppy.”
Price
“Price covers all basic puppy care as well as ENS and foundational sport training. Puppies in the same litter are the same price unless they show aptitude for pet homes or extreme working homes.”

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
