I'm DEBBIE P., the breeder behind Darkwood Gordon Setters located in Hackensack, MN. We offer the stud services of our incredible field Gordon Setter, Bogie, to other responsible breeders. We love our dog dearly and are incredibly proud of his accomplishments and of the wonderful puppies he has produced! We will also be adding a beautiful imported dual female, Valia, to our program soon.

Why did you start breeding?
I purchased Bogie in the fall of 2018 and it quickly became apparent that he has an incredible nose, drive, intensity and style, as well as being highly trainable. He was used to guide for grouse and woodcock in the fall of 2019 and was certified as a brood pointing dog in the spring of 2020. He is a dog that will improve field Gordon setter genetics, and that is my goal in my breeding program. His puppies are doing well so far, hunting and retrieving at 4-5 months old. I plan to use him and my new dual female Valia to produce fantastic foot hunting dogs that move well, are intense, stylish and trainable with a fantastic nose.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Puppy prices include between $1,600 - $2,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

About Bogie
Bogie is a male Gordon Setter. Carefully selected as a great representative of his breed, DEBBIE decided to make him part of their program. DEBBIE has passed Good Dog’s screening process, which involved a review of their breeding practices, environment, and the mental and physical health of their dogs.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
