Meet the breeder
I'm Cory H., the breeder behind DHart Farm & Kennel located in Gig Harbor, WA. We moved to Olalla in the late Spring of 2000, and find it very peaceful. On our small parcel of land, we have two areas, both of which we try to keep bird friendly, while allowing us room to play with our dogs. I breed quality dogs with attention to health, structure and breed standard.

Why did you start breeding?
I co-owned my first breeding dogs with my breed mentors so that I could learn more about the breeds. I was instantly interested after seeing how bad breeding could be during my breed rescue. When I got my first dogs from a good breeder I saw the striking difference. The importance of preserving the breeds and breeding correctly was amply demonstrated!What makes your program special?
I am careful to choose dogs that are not only excellent examples of their breed but are healthy and screened for known health issues in the breed. I do not rely just on looks—I work and train my dogs. Temperament is just as important as looks to me.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Program update on 28 Feb 2025 •Pups are all doing great! Frankie- our oldest available pup- is currently with our cobreeder for more social interactions and basic training. He is going to make some lucky person a great BFF! The younger pups are learning more every day. Currently they are all sleeping overnight in their individual crates, then going out the dog door to potty. Regular individual time is going well. They are smart, social pups! 🐶

About Bravo
Bravo is a lovely compact boy with excellent breed traits and temperament. He was shown and finished to his Grand Championship by is co-owner, who was new to AKC shows. He resides with a number other dogs of a large herding breed, including other males and shows the correct Rat Terrier temperament - loves to hunts, no DA or SSA.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
