I'm Teresa C., the breeder behind Dogtown K9 Training home of "vom Haus Courtland" Kennel located in Gardnerville, NV. Our dogs work hard, play hard, love hard & are part of the family. We prepare all our pups to thrive in their future jobs & homes. We strive to produce well-rounded, balanced Working line German Shepherd Dogs that make exceptional active family companions but also have the ability to thrive in a variety of working dog sports.

Why did you start breeding?
I have been breeding dogs for over 30 years. I started with Rottweilers and bred working line Rottweilers in the early days. Since the early 2000's I have been selectivly breeding Working line German Shepherds. I breed primarly when I am looking for a new dog for myself. I am very active in dog sports and take pride in training and titling all my dogs myself. earning the titles as Breeder/Handler/Owner/Trained.

Our puppies have stock coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

Our puppies include sable, black, and bi-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

Teresa has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Price

Puppy prices include a $300 non-refundable deposit and $2,700 final payment, before taxes & fees.

Contract & health guarantee

Teresa may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. If Teresa offers a contract or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them. If you have any questions or want to know more, don't hesitate to reach out to Teresa directly.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
