Meet the breeder

I'm Marilyn H., the breeder behind Double Branch Basset Hounds located in Columbus, NC. We are a small breeder of European Basset Hounds in beautiful Western NC. We focus on producing beautiful Basset Hounds that have loving temperaments and sound health.

Q. & A. with Marilyn

  • Why did you start breeding?

I fell in love with Basset Hounds when I was six years old. My uncle had a Basset Hound and I thought that was the most amazing dog I had ever met. He was calm, lovable, and would just lay on the couch with me. Many years later after retiring from a career in Hospital Safety and Emergency Management, I was able to do what I loved most, breed Basset Hounds.
  • What makes your program special?

We handpick and import our breeding dogs from around the world. We work hard to provide genetic health tested and loving temperament puppies. We constantly evaluate our dogs and breeding program to provide the best companion for your family.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
