I'm Caleb S., the breeder behind Dragonfly Kennels located in Madison, WI. At Dragonfly Kennels we adore the lively and intelligent Jack Russell Terrier! Our dogs and puppies are our pride and joy! Our breeding philosophy revolves around three fundamental aspects: health, temperament, and conformation. We believe that breeding should always prioritize the health of the dogs. We aim to breed dogs with stable and reliable temperaments as well as excellent type, balance, and movement.

    I have been involved in livestock breeding for my entire life and am now applying this knowledge to preserve the integrity, temperaments, and functionality of Jack Russell Terriers.

    Throughout our careers, we have had the privilege of working with various species, but our true passion lies in the domain of canines. Our commitment to the betterment of this breed extends beyond mere aesthetics. We are wholeheartedly dedicated to preserving and enhancing the rich tapestry of Jack Russell’s for generations to come.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Puppy prices include a $100 non-refundable deposit and $1,900 final payment, before taxes & fees.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Congenital Deafness (BAER, registered with OFA), JRTCA Registry

    A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), Primary Lens Luxation (PLL), Spinocerebellar Ataxia (SCA)

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
