Meet the breeder

I'm Darin M., the breeder behind D.S. K-9 located in Shipshewana, IN. Our German Shepherds are OFA-certified and genetically health tested to help ensure sound structure and long-term health. Raised in our home as part of the family, they receive daily interaction, early socialization, and exposure to a variety of people, environments, and experiences.

Q. & A. with Darin

  • Why did you start breeding?

I got into breeding when my wife and I got our first German shepherd. Because I love German Shepherds so much, I want other people to enjoy them as much as I do.
  • What makes your program special?

My puppies are very well socialized. They are leash trained and know how to sit and lay down before they leave my home.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies include stock and long coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include sable, black, black and red, and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
