I'm Kensington D., the breeder behind Duke’s Forever Doodles located in Knoxville, TN. At Duke’s Forever Doodles, we raise Cavapoos with a strong focus on early development, temperament, and long-term companionship. Each puppy is raised through our DFD Companion Foundation™—a structured approach designed to create calm, confident, and well-adjusted family companions. From the very beginning, we focus on emotional stability, socialization, and real-life exposure within our home. Our dogs live with us as part of our family and are raised alongside our young son, helping shape gentle, social, and adaptable temperaments. Through daily routines, hands-on interaction, and early experiences, our puppies are thoughtfully prepared for a smooth transition into their new homes. We keep our program intentionally small, allowing us to give each puppy the time, care, and attention they deserve while thoughtfully matching them with the right families.

Why did you start breeding?
I was first introduced to breeding through my mom, who raised puppies while I was growing up. From an early age, I was hands-on—helping care for the dogs, learning the day-to-day responsibilities, and gaining a deep appreciation for what it takes to raise puppies well. Years later, my husband Gage and I began raising Cavaliers together and quickly fell in love with their gentle temperament and natural ability to connect with families. When we found out we were expecting our son, we chose to step back and focus on our growing family—but our love for raising dogs never left. As we settled into parenthood, we felt called to build something more intentional—raising our son alongside puppies in a way that reflected both of our experiences and values. That vision ultimately led us to focus on Cavapoos, combining the loving nature of the Cavalier with the intelligence and versatility of the Poodle. Today, that foundation continues to shape the way we raise our puppies—hands-on, thoughtfully, and with a strong focus on developing well-rounded companions from the very beginning.What makes your program special?
Our program is built on intention, structure, and a commitment to giving every puppy the best possible start. We are highly selective about the dogs we bring into our program, prioritizing excellent temperament, sound structure, and fully health-tested backgrounds. We believe a strong foundation begins with well-balanced parents, and each pairing is thoughtfully planned with long-term health, stability, and companionship in mind. Every puppy is raised through our DFD Companion Foundation™—a structured early development approach designed to create calm, confident, and well-adjusted family companions. From the very beginning, we focus on emotional stability, socialization, and real-life exposure within our home. Our dogs live with us as part of our family and are raised alongside our young son, which helps shape gentle, social, and adaptable temperaments. Through daily routines, hands-on interaction, and intentional early experiences—including crate conditioning, potty training foundations, and grooming exposure—our puppies are thoughtfully prepared for a smooth and natural transition into their new homes. We also keep our program intentionally small, allowing us to give each puppy the individual attention, care, and time they deserve while thoughtfully matching them with the right families. Kensington has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
Kensington partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 8 weeks old.

“Our Cavapoos are priced at $5,000, reflecting the level of care, time, and intentional development each puppy receives. Each puppy is raised through our DFD Companion Foundation™—a structured early development approach focused on creating calm, confident, and well-adjusted companions. From health-tested parents to daily hands-on care within our home, every puppy is thoughtfully prepared for a smooth and successful transition into their new family. We keep our program intentionally small to ensure each puppy receives the attention and care they deserve. . A $500 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a puppy or secure a spot on our waitlist. This deposit goes toward the total purchase price and allows us to thoughtfully hold your place as we guide you through our matching process.”

Litter update on 23 July •…Just a little glimpse into puppy life around here. 🤍 The Gemstone babies officially moved into their upgraded puppy space, and they’re settling in so well! Some have already claimed the open-door crate for cozy naps, while others are busy exploring, playing with their toys, and soaking up every bit of attention. 🥹 Sterling even had a few things to say when I called him handsome. 💙 It’s so much fun watching their little personalities grow more each day. Every week they become more curious, confident, and affectionate, and we’re soaking in every minute with them.

Litter update on 15 July •…The grass patch has officially made its debut! 🌱🐶 After a shipping mishap delayed our original order, we finally got the puppies’ real grass patch set up today. This is our first litter fully incorporating real grass potty training, and their reactions were priceless! Safe to say Copper approved immediately. 😂💚 Here’s to another exciting milestone as these sweet babies continue learning and growing each week. 🐾

Litter update on 02 July •…✨ 3 Weeks Old ✨ Three weeks already! 🤍🐾 This week has brought some of our favorite milestones yet. The Gemstone babies are growing beautifully and are becoming so much more aware of the world around them. Their little wobbly walks are getting steadier every day, they’re beginning to play with one another, and we’re starting to catch little glimpses of the sweet personalities that will continue to blossom over the coming weeks. This week is another exciting step in their journey as they’ll also be introduced to their very first real grass patch, beginning the early stages of potty training through our Signature Start Program. It’s such a joy watching them grow, and we’re so grateful to share these moments with all of you. ❤️

She is affectionate, intuitive, and deeply connected to her environment—traits that are incredibly important in the puppies she will one day raise. As part of our program, Ember is being thoughtfully developed and will undergo full health testing prior to breeding to ensure we are building on a strong, healthy foundation. What we value most in Ember is not just her beauty, but the qualities she will pass on—confidence, gentleness, and the ability to adapt seamlessly into family life. We are incredibly intentional in how we raise and pair our dogs, and Ember represents the future of the kind of Cavapoos we are committed to producing. She formed a sweet bond with our son early on and carries a quiet, affectionate presence that makes her incredibly easy to live with and love. Beyond her soft, curly coat and elegant structure, what truly sets Poppy apart is the way she connects—she is intuitive, patient, and naturally in tune with her environment. She thrives in a home setting and is happiest when she’s close to her people, calmly following along or settling in for quiet moments. As a future mother, Poppy brings exactly what we prioritize in our program: emotional stability, gentleness, and strong maternal instincts. These are the traits that shape well-adjusted, confident puppies who transition seamlessly into family life. Rocket is our AKC-registered Cavalier King Charles Spaniel stud and a truly special part of our program here at Duke’s Forever Doodles. Imported from Ukraine with an exceptional pedigree, Rocket brings together beautiful structure, rich coloring, and a calm, affectionate temperament that sets the tone for the puppies he produces. He is fully health tested, including heart, eyes, patella, and genetic screening, and is AKC DNA certified. More importantly, Rocket consistently produces puppies known for their gentle nature, emotional stability, and natural ability to settle seamlessly into family life. His calm, loving personality carries through strongly in his offspring, making them especially well-suited for companionship, families, and everyday home environments. Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
Full Embark Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

I found Kensington on Good Dog after a long search. I was attracted to her pups because they are beautiful. What I hadn’t expected was such a personable and responsive breeder. Kensington answered all my questions, agreed to phone calls, sent pictures and videos. On top of all that she delivered Maisie to me by flying to Boston! I had suggested a travel nanny but she didn’t want a stranger taking her fur baby. That says a lot! Maisie is everything I wanted. She’s so sweet, smart, cuddly and responsive. And beautiful!
