Q. & A. with Kensington

  • Why did you start breeding?

I first got into breeding through my mom, who raised puppies when I was growing up. I was always hands-on—helping care for the dogs, learning the day-to-day needs of raising puppies, and seeing firsthand how much love and responsibility it takes. Those early experiences planted the seed for what would one day become a passion of my own. Years later, my husband Gage and I began raising Cavaliers together. We fell in love with the breed’s sweet temperament and family-friendly nature. When we found out we were expecting our son, we decided to take a step back to focus on our growing family. But the love for dogs never left us—and once we settled into parenthood, we knew we wanted to raise our son alongside puppies, just like I had experienced. Now, we’ve chosen to focus on Cavapoos—combining the gentle, loving nature of the Cavalier with the intelligence and hypoallergenic coat of the Poodle. It’s been such a meaningful way to blend our love for dogs with our life as parents, and we’re so excited to share that joy with other families through our program.
  • What makes your program special?

Our program is built on intention, heart, and a deep commitment to doing things the right way from the start. We are extremely selective about the dogs we bring into our program—choosing only those with excellent temperaments, strong structure, and health-tested backgrounds. We believe that a solid foundation is everything, and that starts with healthy, well-balanced parents. Every pairing is carefully planned, not just to produce adorable puppies, but to ensure that each one is set up for a lifetime of health, stability, and love. We’re not here to breed as many puppies as possible—we’re here to raise exceptional companions who bring joy to their future families. What also makes us unique is our home-based, family-centered approach. Our dogs live with us—not in kennels—and are raised alongside our young son, making them incredibly well-socialized and used to everyday life from day one. We’re hands-on every step of the way, giving each puppy the attention, structure, and early experiences they need to grow into confident, loving dogs. We pour our hearts into this work and are proud to offer families not just a puppy, but a truly thoughtful and well-prepared addition to their lives.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Cavapoo puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Cavapoo puppies include merle, tri-color, red, blenheim, and apricot. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

“Our Cavapoos are priced between $3,500 and $5,000, depending on coat type, color, and structure. This range reflects the quality, care, and intention behind every puppy we raise. All of our parent dogs are genetically health tested, and we are deeply committed to producing healthy, well-rounded puppies from solid, thoughtfully chosen lines. Each puppy is raised in our home with daily love, early socialization, and enrichment activities tailored to their development. Before going home, puppies receive age-appropriate vaccinations, routine deworming, a vet check, and go home with a health guarantee and a personalized puppy pack to make the transition smooth. We are currently placing all puppies in pet homes only under a spay/neuter agreement, unless otherwise discussed with and approved by us for responsible breeding purposes. We are committed to protecting the future of our lines and only consider breeding homes that align with our values. We’re proud to raise exceptional Cavapoos who are not only beautiful, but healthy, happy, and prepared for life as loving companions. We require a $500 non-refundable deposit to reserve a puppy or secure a spot on our waitlist. This deposit goes toward the total purchase price and ensures that your puppy is held just for you. We take our commitment to each family seriously, and accepting a deposit allows us to plan accordingly while keeping things fair and organized for everyone involved. Deposits are accepted only after an application is approved and we’ve had a chance to connect to ensure it’s the right fit on both sides. Puppies are chosen in the order deposits are received, typically around 5–6 weeks of age, once personalities have started to develop. We’re happy to help guide families toward a puppy that best suits their lifestyle and preferences.”
