Meet the breeder

I'm Kathy M., the breeder behind Eagleheart Entlebuchers located in Sisters, OR. We focus on producing dogs who are true to the breed standard and who have great temperaments. Our dogs and pups are our pride! Eagleheart Entlebuchers are a BCOE breeder (Breeder Code of Ethics) of NEMDA (National Entlebucher Mountain Dog Association). We do thorough testing on both the dam and sire of each litter. We always try to breed the best possible matches for temperament and conformation. Pupperlu is the only breeding girl now but she has ALL the dogs that Eagleheart Entlebuchers has ever had so she is one special girl!

Q. & A. with Kathy

  • Why did you start breeding?

I got my first Entlebucher in 1995 and others who had them convinced me to start breeding as there was a need. My first dog Shaman passed all her health tests, was true to the breed standard, and was the perfect representation of the breed. So that is what got me started.
  • What makes your program special?

The puppies are home raised on a 1/2 acre so lots of safe outside space. I do a LOT of socialization with people, dogs, sounds, etc. I have a cat that LOVES dogs so the puppies are already exposed to cats. I have the support of all the BCOE breeders in our national club NEMDA.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are black white and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
