I'm Randi N., the breeder behind East TN Dachshunds located in Knoxville, TN. We raise our litters in our home to help set the foundation for happy and confident puppies to transition well into their forever homes. It’s a privilege to have the opportunity to make an impact on each individual puppy!

Why did you start breeding?
Breeding has been my passion for 20 years and counting. It all started when I started working at a veterinarian clinic right out of high school. The veterinarian was a reproductive vet and a breeder. I learned the ends and outs of everything, from the whole birthing process, doing AI’s (artificial insemination) to delivering puppies through c sections. I mentored under her for several years. I was a veterinarian technician for a total of12 years. I started out breeding Great Danes. Danes short lifespan made it so hard on the heart… So I switched to my favorite breed, the Miniature Dachshund!!What makes your program special?
We strive to preserve the breed to its standard, with health testing, temperament & conformation being our main focus. We start socializing at a very young age. Socialized puppies are more likely to grow up to be wonderful companions.What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Dachshund puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA), Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
