Meet the breeder

I'm Heather E., the breeder behind EshelmanSchwitz German Shepherd Dogs located in Struthers, OH. We strive to produce quality well rounded AKC registered German Shepherd dogs from health tested dams and sires. Our goal is to produce quality, healthy, diverse GSDs that give their owners the amazing experience that we have had with this wonderful breed.

Q. & A. with Heather

  • Why did you start breeding?

My mother had been breeding GSDs my entire life. I loved all of the dogs, but gained an interest in the breeding aspect when I had the honor of owning my very first female GSD who grew into my first “heart dog”. I trained her, titled her and health tested her, then eventually had my first litter. I have worked my hardest to learn and grow myself and this breeding program the best I possibly can.
  • What makes your program special?

We focus on the health, temperament and the lifetime well being of the dogs we produce. We strive to produce the healthiest and most diverse dogs with looks, personalities and the abilities to work as the breed was originally created. We also carefully pick who each individual puppy goes to, to ensure that each individual puppy thrives to the best of their ability in their new home.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies include stock and long coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include sable, black, black and tan, black and cream, black and red, and bi-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

We had a great experience with Heather buying our pup. Our Presley was given a take home bundle with a lot of helpful items and information. We love our Presley and would use this breeder again.
