I'm Angela C., the breeder behind Esmera Entlebuchers and Bernese located in Albany, OR. We have been involved in Berners for over 20 years, competing at AKC dog shows across the United States with our dogs. In 2022 we welcomed our first Entlebucher into our family and fell in love. We strive to produce long lived, loving companions who are beautiful examples of the breed.
Q. & A. with Angela
Why did you start breeding?
Born and raised breeding and showing dogs at AKC dog shows, I have always loved breeding alongside my mother who instilled her values of producing healthy, happy dogs.
What makes your program special?
We have been working with these dogs for generations, I know their lines very well. Entlebuchers are new to me but I have a great rapport with Ellie's breeder in the Czech Republic and have been educated on the sire's lines, the stud dog owner has owned for generations!
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our Bernese Mountain Dog puppies are tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1B), Bernese Mountain Dog Type, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), von Willebrand Disease I (vWD I)
