Bonnie has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
Bonnie partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape.
“We begin matching puppies at approximately 5 weeks old, once their individual temperaments, personalities, and characteristics are easier to observe. Families choose their puppy based on their position on our waitlist, which is determined by the order deposits are received. While buyers are able to make their own selection when it is their turn, we provide guidance throughout the process by sharing our observations of each puppy’s temperament, confidence, energy level, engagement, and overall personality. Our goal is to help each family choose the puppy that best fits their home, lifestyle, goals, and experience level, whether they are looking for a family companion, active lifestyle dog, obedience prospect, or service-oriented prospect.”

“Price includes contract, AKC limited registration, 6 and 8-week vaccinations, 3, 6, and 8 week deworming, and puppy socialization. We offer discounts for military/law enforcement. Non-refundable under most circumstances, but can be refunded under agreed-upon special cases.”
Bonnie may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. If Bonnie offers a contract or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them. If you have any questions or want to know more, don't hesitate to reach out to Bonnie directly.
When you pay and communicate on Good Dog, you’re covered by Payment Protection.

💜🐾 PURPLE GIRL 7 WEEK UPDATE 🐾💜 (Tabby/Ares) Purple Girl is full of personality and confidence. She is very outgoing, super affectionate, and absolutely loves being right with her people. She is clearly the alpha female of the group and has no problem letting her brothers know how things are going to go. She carries herself with a natural confidence and assertiveness that stands out right away. She is also very smart and quick to engage. The moment you sit down, she is the first one in your lap, ready for attention and interaction. She’s shaping up to be a bold, affectionate, and highly people oriented girl with a lot of presence and personality 🐶✨

💙🐾 BLUE BOY 7 WEEK UPDATE 🐾💙 (Tabby/Ares) Blue Boy is very similar in temperament to his brother, with that same laid back and easy going nature, but he does lean a little more independent. He still seeks out interaction with people and enjoys cuddles and kisses, but he is just as content to hang back and observe what’s going on around him. He has a thoughtful, watchful side that really stands out. He is the most toy focused of the group and already showing a nice amount of drive. He especially enjoys engaging with toys and stays locked in when he finds something he likes. He has a great balance of affection, independence, and curiosity, making him a very well rounded pup with a little extra focus and engagement when it comes to play. He’s shaping up to be a really nice mix of calm, thoughtful, and driven 🐶✨

💚🐾 GREEN BOY 7 WEEK UPDATE 🐾💚 (Tabby/Ares) Green Boy is currently our largest boy, weighing in at 13 lbs. He and his brother are very similar in personality and both take after their dad with their laid back, easy going nature. He loves to play, especially tug with the rope toy, and isn’t above teaming up with his brother to annoy their sisters a little. He has a fun, playful side but balances it nicely with a calm, steady demeanor. He is very affectionate and engages well with people, showing that strong people focus we love to see. At the same time, he is confident and curious, not hesitant to explore new things and check out new environments on his own. He’s shaping up to be a well rounded boy with a great mix of calm temperament, playfulness, and confidence 🐶✨

❤️🐾 RED GIRL 7 WEEK UPDATE 🐾❤️ (Tabby/Ares) Red Girl continues to be one of the most engaging personalities in the litter. She is very outgoing, inquisitive, and always quick to come see what you’re doing. She has a naturally affectionate side and really enjoys interaction, but she carries it with a nice balance. She is not the alpha female of the group, but she is definitely not a wallflower either. She confidently holds her own and stays right in the middle of everything without needing to take over. Her curiosity and strong people focus make her especially fun to work with. She wants to be part of everything and picks things up quickly through interaction. She is also our confirmed long coat female, and her beautiful plush coat is really starting to stand out more each week. She is shaping up to be a great mix of confident, affectionate, and interactive. The kind of pup that is easy to enjoy and easy to bond with 🐶✨

💙 Blue Boy – 5 Week Update Blue Boy is really starting to show his personality, and it’s a very nice one. In this stage, he is extremely people-focused and naturally seeks out interaction. In this video, you can see how engaged he is, repeatedly coming in to investigate, nuzzle, and gently lick rather than getting distracted or wandering off. He has a calm, steady presence about him and is very comfortable being close and interacting. There is no hesitation in him, but also no chaos. He carries himself with a quiet confidence that is very balanced for his age. What really stands out is his gentle approach. He uses a soft mouth and thoughtful interaction instead of overly pushy or mouthy behavior, which is something we really like to see this early. Blue Boy is shaping up to be very people-oriented, affectionate, and steady with a natural ability to connect and engage.

💚 Green Boy 💚 – 5 Weeks Old (Tabby x Ares) This boy continues to impress us more every day. One of the sweetest things he’s started doing is reaching out with his right paw to make contact, trying to connect and interact intentionally. It’s a small detail, but it says a lot about his awareness and desire to engage with people. Toward the end of the video you’ll see him bounce into a series of little jumping pounces (very much giving Tigger vibes 🐾) — a great example of his playful spirit and developing coordination. What we’re really seeing come through at this stage: • Strong human focus and engagement • Confident, curious approach to interaction • Playful drive without being over the top • Nice balance of affection and independence He’s thoughtful in how he interacts, but still very much a happy, playful puppy. This is the kind of temperament we aim for, engaged, people-oriented, and naturally interactive.

Purple Girl — 2 Weeks Old 🎥 In this clip, Purple is very relaxed and settles comfortably while being handled. She shows appropriate hind leg response to belly stimulation and some early paw mouthing as she explores through touch. While she can show a little spunk when first picked up — a quick “I’m here” moment — she regulates quickly and relaxes just as fast. That balance of expressiveness with recovery is something we like to see. Her coat is already very dense and soft, much like her sire Ares. Confident. Aware. And developing beautifully. (Tabby/Ares)

Blue Boy — 2 Weeks Old 🎥 Blue responds to stimulation appropriately for his age — gentle hind leg movement with belly rubs and some early paw mouthing as he explores through touch. What stands out most right now is his demeanor. He tends to settle more quickly than his littermates and carries a naturally laid-back presence. There’s a quiet ease about him — observant, comfortable, and unhurried. He reminds us very much of his sire, Ares — sweet natured, steady, and calm in contrast to the impressive IGP3 title he holds. Developing beautifully and right on track. (Tabby/Ares)

Green Boy — 2 Weeks Old 🎥 Green is currently the most mobile of the litter. He is getting up onto all four feet and attempting those early wobbly steps, showing good coordination and developing muscle tone for his age. When stimulated, he moves repeatedly, attempts to reorient himself, and explores through mouthing both my hand and his own paws. He doesn’t simply settle — he works through the experience first. There’s a clear determination to explore already emerging. (Tabby/Ares)

Bonnie Z.
Red Girl — 2 Weeks Old 🎥 Watch how she responds when her belly is rubbed. Her back paws gently paddle — a healthy neurological reflex and good sensory response without overstimulation. She briefly mouths her own paws as well, already beginning early oral exploration and coordination. Notice the fur already coming in between the pads of her back feet — her long coat is making itself known even at this age. She adjusts easily when repositioned and settles quickly, showing soft body tone and calm regulation. Quiet, composed, and developing beautifully. (Tabby/Ares)

Hi Bonnie! Things are going well and challenging. Our pup ended up with the name of Dude. He is very social and thinks everyone is his friend, very nice temperament. He is sitting on command and he/we are figuring out the potty training. He’s been around 3 cats and that went well and our daughter’s 16month old Shepard. He loves playing and wrestling!! He travels really well, put him in his crate and off to sleep he goes. Hope that continues!! He weighs 21lbs now! Glad our daughter found your kennel online. It was an easy process and you kept us in the loop from deposit to pick up!! We loved the pics and videos along the way! Thank you!!

I’m not sure people realize how difficult it is to find a good breeder. We feel really lucky to have discovered Bonnie & Bill's Ewig Krieger Kennels. We wanted a healthy and confident puppy with the black and red/tan coloring. It was a bonus that they breed for the temperament for service work. They answered our many questions and responded in a timely manner. We could really tell they care about their dogs and breeding responsibly. They let us meet all their dogs and were open to us coming back to visit any time. After only a couple days we can tell he is a smart one and will be a joy. I'm pretty sure we will be heading back to Ewig Krieger in a couple years to pick out a sister for our Monty.

Working with Bonnie has been such an amazing experience. She was right there every step of the way with all the questions I had. She would respond right away, and you can tell she truly loves and cares about her dogs. I wanted to find a reputable breeder, and Bonnie was that and more. I got to pick out Shiloh and he is such a great puppy. He loves to play in the water and loves snuggles. Our family loves him and I would definitely recommend anyone looking to get a German shepherd puppy to get one from Bonnie.

We were nervous getting a dog through Good Dog, fearful of puppy mills, or unethical practices. Seeing a Veteran owned business was the first thing that got me interested, but Bonnie eased our fears instantly, was extremely responsive to my numerous questions, and put up with my constant requests for updated pictures. When finally our pickup day came up, both Bonnie and Bill were so welcoming made the drive there with it. Lilly, has quickly adapted to our new home, and from a old man that finds little to smile about, my goodness our beautiful little girl has bring nothing but. We would and more than likely will seek a playmate from Ewig, in future litters, hopefully from a litter Ares makes happen, the most amazing looking GSD I have ever seen. Thanks Bonnie and Bill, for making our family complete, for now, until you get to put up with me on our next addition.

Ewig Krieger Kennels was a fantastic experience! Bonnie was very informative and filled us in with all the important information that we would need to bring Duchess home and guide through the steps needed with her vet care for her puppy needs. While there to pick up Duchess Bonnie introduced us to the Mother and Father and we very much appreciated that. Their temperament was very calm and Momma Dog was very protective as she should be. Duchie is an awesome pup. She has her puppy things that will all get worked out with traing and age. We look forward to spending her life with her and sharing many memories. Thank You Bonnie!
