I'm Bonnie Z., the breeder behind Ewig Krieger Kennels located in Lewistown, MO. Our pups are from top West German Show Lines with multiple World Sieger Champions in their Pedigrees. They are highly intelligent with outgoing, sweet temperaments. Our dogs are PTSD Service trained & produce highly intelligent, focused pups, perfect for service work or just loving family pets.

Because our primary focus is to produce high-quality GSDs that have the potential to become service dogs or other working uses, intelligence and temperament are definitely a focal point of our breeding program. We always ensure we adhere to breed standards in order to promote exceptional quality, health, and temperament.What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Litter update on 06 July •…(Merry/Zen) Puppy Update: 4 weeks Merry's pups are doing great. They are growing so fast and their teeth are fully in now. We will be starting them on softened kibble this week. Between now and next week we should start to see their personalities begin to emerge. They are beautiful pups and Merry is doing extremely well with her first litter. www.ewigkriegerkennels.com

Litter update on 30 June •…(Merry) Puppy Update: 3 weeks Merry's pups are up and walking around. I love this stage when they wobble around and start interacting with each other. They are starting to mouth one another, the prelude to full on wrestling in about another week. Their teeth aren't in yet but you can see them right under the gums getting ready to come through.

Litter update on 30 June •…(Tabby/Thor) Puppy Update: 7 weeks Tabby's four pups are doing great and full of personality. They have their final vet check next Monday and will start going to their homes after that. They are all so adorable when you walk in the room and they come running up to the gate and want held. It's hard to have a bad day when you have those cute faces staring at you and tails wagging.

Litter update on 24 June •…(Merry) Puppy Update: 2 weeks Merry's pups are growing so fast. Their eyes are open and they are starting to walk around. Merry is such a wonderful mother to them.

Litter update on 24 June •…(Tabby/Thor) Puppy Update: 6 weeks old. They are all packing on weight and coming into their individual personalities. Everyone has homes with families anxious for their arrival. Green is still the biggest and loves the food bowl. Blue isn't far behind, though, and gives Green a run for his money. Orange is the 3rd biggest, but his personality outweighs his body weight. He doesn't let his two bigger brothers push him around and will actually pin Green Boy to the floor when Green gets too rough. Brown Boy is the quiet cuddler. They all enjoy a good cuddle, but when the other three are wrestling together, Brown would much rather climb on my lap and watch the show. That doesn't mean he won't stand up for himself, though, when one of his brothers pushes him too far. He quickly lets them know he's had enough and then goes back to chilling.

Litter update on 14 June •…Puppy Update: Merry's litter is one week old and doing well. She is being a very attentive Momma, especially since this is her 1st litter. She ended up having 5 boys and 3 girls. Bill Zabuski has been an absolute trooper and blessing, taking care of them while I am away to Navy annual training. (Merry)

Litter update on 14 June •…(Tabby/Thor) Puppy Update: 5 weeks old. Here are some individual pics of Tabby's litter. They all are doing fantastic. My toes are no longer safe against their little shark teeth. I'm pretty sure that Green Boy is our only short coat and Orange, Blue and Brown are all long coats. Brown Boy is probably the most laid back so far, and such a cuddler, just wanting to crawl into my lap and be held. Orange Boy is the smallest, but he doesn't back down from Green Boy who is the biggest. He makes sure his big brother knows he is small but mighty! Blue is somewhere in between, he puts up with Green Boys wrestling and dominating for a little while, then lets him know he's had enough. They have their 6 week vet visit this coming Tuesday where they will get their 1st immunizations and another deworming.

Merry is a top quality West German Show-line import from Hungary. She has three titles, SG, V & IGP1. She is the daughter of a top ranked World Sieger Champion VA1 Asap Vom Aldamar IGP3. Merry is social with both people and animals and is very affectionate and loving, but retains the traditional German Shepherd protectiveness that exemplifies the breed. Judge comments from IGP1 title as follows: Well proportioned bitch with good bone strength and good expression, very good pigmentation, strong expressive head with commendable dark mask, high withers, straight firm back, very good forechest and good underchest, the hindquarters are very well angulated, correct front, straight from the front.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Canine Good Citizen (CGC), Temperament Test
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

We were nervous getting a dog through Good Dog, fearful of puppy mills, or unethical practices. Seeing a Veteran owned business was the first thing that got me interested, but Bonnie eased our fears instantly, was extremely responsive to my numerous questions, and put up with my constant requests for updated pictures. When finally our pickup day came up, both Bonnie and Bill were so welcoming made the drive there with it. Lilly, has quickly adapted to our new home, and from a old man that finds little to smile about, my goodness our beautiful little girl has bring nothing but. We would and more than likely will seek a playmate from Ewig, in future litters, hopefully from a litter Ares makes happen, the most amazing looking GSD I have ever seen. Thanks Bonnie and Bill, for making our family complete, for now, until you get to put up with me on our next addition.

Ewig Krieger Kennels was a fantastic experience! Bonnie was very informative and filled us in with all the important information that we would need to bring Duchess home and guide through the steps needed with her vet care for her puppy needs. While there to pick up Duchess Bonnie introduced us to the Mother and Father and we very much appreciated that. Their temperament was very calm and Momma Dog was very protective as she should be. I’m not sure people realize how difficult it is to find a good breeder. We feel really lucky to have discovered Bonnie & Bill's Ewig Krieger Kennels. We wanted a healthy and confident puppy with the black and red/tan coloring. It was a bonus that they breed for the temperament for service work. They answered our many questions and responded in a timely manner. We could really tell they care about their dogs and breeding responsibly. They let us meet all their dogs and were open to us coming back to visit any time. After only a couple days we can tell he is a smart one and will be a joy. I'm pretty sure we will be heading back to Ewig Krieger in a couple years to pick out a sister for our Monty.

Working with Bonnie has been such an amazing experience. She was right there every step of the way with all the questions I had.
