  • Early Onset Progressive Retinal Atrophy (EOPRA), Canine Multiple System Degeneration (Chinese Crested Type)

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    Larissa and her sweet husband of Dao Dog Chinese Cresteds made getting our sweet chocolate hairless puppy girl such a wonderful experience and really a gamechanger for us! They drove and met us to keep stress off the puppy and delivered her in such happy spirits! This is truly one of the dreams answered in puppy form for a chinese crested dog enthusiast! I focused on career and my art and didn't breed or show for 10 years. I told myself when I was ready the perfect dog would come along. She did thank you to the quality of careful genetics and lifework of Dao Dog. She's everything I could ask for. It's not easy in a breed to get a show quality exotic color AND hairless AND female with recessive genes. She's one in a million. PLUS she has the show temperament, so confident and she has PRESENCE. She was 10 weeks and she demands your attention. As the breeder of some of the first show chocolate puff, the color had just been recognized, who produced chocolate champions around the world....this dog from Dao Dog blew my socks off. At 12 was She's already showing well and head and tail up at matches and moving so pretty. She's everything you want in a show dog and at night she sleeps next to me. In a week she's glued to my side. I just can't recommend Dao Dog enough. They are worth every penny. Do yourself a favor if you want the true essence of the breed..get a dog from Dao Dog. I got the Chocolate icing on the Cake with this baby girl (our Lulu) and she's brought so much joy to us with her temperament and antics! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, sincerely!!! I can't wait to show her off!!

    Larisa and the family kennel Dao Dog did a wonderful job with the whole process. From the communication prior to purchase, the day of purchase and all of the information she provided along with the puppy, and then after the purchase, she’s been an incredible resource for our family. This is our first crested, so we’ve needed lots of additional information and she hasn’t hesitated to provide everything.     The breeder DaoDog for Chinese Crested Pups was amazing. They always responded and were so patient with me asking a lot of questions. The contract was clear, the paperwork upon arrival was organized and complete. Payment was easy. They were VERY flexible about helping to deliver the dog to my home from another state and made it stress free. It was obvious that DaoDog owners cared about the dogs and treated them like family. They even sent information with food and care which includes healthy natural suggestions. I can't say enough good things and I'm certainly enjoying my new puppy from them.     We had a very positive experience working with Larisa and Dao Dog.     What a silly story. I’ve owned Chinese Cresteds since 1994! Three males and one female…all rescues and all hairless. I put up for years with friends teasing me about my naked dogs and how I need one with fur! After my last boy sadly passed away unexpectedly from bone cancer, I waited a year. I started looking for a chihuahua….a rescue black and tan deer head is what I was after. Months of looking and nothing. I finally looked at Good Dog and still no luck. Just out of nostalgia I looked at Chinese Cresteds. One look at Black Jack, a jet black powderpuff with the most amazing eyes and I was hooked! Now named Derek, he came here with the longest hair I’ve ever seen! I now have a standing appointment with a groomer 😂. Derek is definitely a one person buddy, incredibly smart and loving. He has the softest fur and I just am in love 🥰.

    I’m writing this with the sweetest, cutest, funniest, most loving little creature curled up asleep under my arm. I can hardly believe she’s real. I was incredibly anxious about getting a dog. It’s the second dog I’ve ever had, and my first Chinese crested. Larisa answered my *endless* stream of questions, and in talking to her, my nerves ease. On April 12th, Larisa and her husband met my husband and me, and it was immediately clear how much care and love goes into each one of their pups.
