I'm Michael U., the breeder behind F&B Kennels located in Olean, NY. Breeding Great Danes and GSDs based on health, temperament, and longevity. Traditional and alternative colors, with traditional structure. My dogs live in our home with us and enjoy extensive training and enrichment opportunities.

Why did you start breeding?
My Gundagard. Best dog I've ever owned. I wanted to share the love and happiness of the breed.What makes your program special?
Because, for me, I believe that color is paint. There's no reason a fawnaquin Dane or liver GSD can't be as healthy, temperamentally and structurally sound like a traditional fawn or black and tan. My goal, for structural integrity for both breeds regardless of color or pattern.What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our German Shepherd puppies have long coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our German Shepherd puppies include brown seal, black seal, sable, black, black and red, panda, isabella, black and tan, black and silver, black and cream, bi-color, blue, liver, and white. Great Dane puppies include blue and white, silver, mantle merle, chocolate brindle, chocolate and white, chocolate, blue brindle, black and white, brindle, fawn, blue, harlequin, mantle, merle, and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and guardian homes.

Getting a puppy from Michael
Michael has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
After buyers complete the application and screening process, Michael partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Price
“Pups are priced based on limited or full (If granted) registration. There is no differential in regards to color. All Dane pups are CROPPED and ALL pups are vaccinated before leaving for their new homes. Crop price is 550.00 which is added to the original puppy price. So, limited is 2800.00 and full registration is 4500.00 (Cropped) in regards to the Danes. German Shepherd pups are 2800 limited, 4800 full registration. Pups are priced by registration, limited or full. Pups are not priced by color.”

Hip Dysplasia (Preliminary), Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia (Preliminary), Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA), Canine Good Citizen (CGC)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1), Pituitary Dwarfism (LHX3), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
