I'm Marisela H., the breeder behind Feather Farm's Entles located in Corvallis, OR. We fell in love with Entlebuchers with our first, a rescue we called Tintin. In 2019 we decided to get our new family members from reputable breeders in Europe where more testing is available for the breed. This has also allowed us to add to the genetic diversity of this recovering breed in the US.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    We got our first Entlebucher by chance from a rescue that told us she was a beagle. Her short legs, long body and tri color pattern almost had us believing it, until her Embark test surprised us with Entlebucher/Greater Swiss results. This was the first time we had heard of the breed. It didn't take much to become obsessed with the breed, and we soon started making plans to import our own pair.

  • What makes your program special?

    Both of our Entlebucher came from great breeders in Europe. Sully came to us from Romania in 2022 and Jasmine came to us from Ukraine in 2020 right at the start of the pandemic. They themselves have had all necessary health testing and come from breeders with even more stringent testing requirements than the US.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies are black white and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and $2,700 final payment, before taxes & fees.

  • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Patellar Luxation

    Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd)

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    We had a great experience with Feather Farm Entles. We were fortunate to come across their puppy listing when the dogs were just a few days old. We were able to follow along as the puppies grew. They were very accommodating answering questions and providing pictures and videos to help us decide which puppy to choose and to follow her growth. When it came time to pick up our dog they were also very accommodating and able to meet us at a location and time that we chose. Our puppy is now almost a year and half old. She is healthy and very active.
