Meet the breeder

I'm Amanda R., the breeder behind Feather’s Glen Anatolians located in Franklin, NH. Our puppies are born in my bedroom and carefully raised using the puppy culture program. They are socialized with cats, young children, and other dogs. The Anatolians are socialized with all our livestock and move out with them at 4 weeks of age. Our dogs are suitable as LGD or family/farm dogs.

Q. & A. with Amanda

  • Why did you start breeding?

My passion for animals has driven our desire to breed and create healthy working dogs and pets.
  • What makes your program special?

We focus on conformationally correct, healthy dogs with wonderful temperament. We go above and beyond with our health screenings, breeding dogs that will create correct puppies and the program with which we raise them so they go home well adjusted and social.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include brindle and fawn. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

  • Hip Dysplasia

Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)

Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA)

A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
