I'm Katie R., the breeder behind Festiva Whippets located in Meansville, GA. I have been a breeder of show and companion Whippets since 1988. I breed high-quality, healthy, beautiful puppies. I take my job seriously, knowing that my puppies will become someone's well-loved dog. Each puppy is considered a member of my family and I ensure they are socialized, healthy, and prepared to excel in their forever homes. My dogs are bred to have excellent temperaments for show and pet homes, and I take pride in my breeding program.

Why did you start breeding?
I fell in love with Whippets at a very young age. As a child, I would sit in front of a friend's house and play with their puppies until I was old enough to get a dog of my own. That was the beginning of a wonderful relationship between me and this breed, which continues to this day. Whippets are a beloved and integral part of my life, and I love to share my love of this incredible breed with others.What makes your program special?
With my breeding program, you get over 30 years of experience breeding and showing Whippets. I breed for personality, type, and standard to produce excellent dogs for show or pet homes. I am committed to only breeding dogs that meet the strict guidelines for quality that I have deemed appropriate to improving this wonderful breed.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

About Trix
Trix is a female Whippet. Carefully selected as a great representative of her breed, Katie decided to make her part of their program. Katie has passed Good Dog’s screening process, which involved a review of their breeding practices, environment, and the mental and physical health of their dogs.

Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Whippet Health Foundation Database, Congenital Deafness (BAER, registered with OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
