I'm Robin M., the breeder behind Fino Lagotto located in Santa Fe, NM. I am a Lagotto Romagnolo enthusiast. I breed a litter of puppies with the goal of superior temperament, health, and classic Italian characteristics. The Lagotto is a very special breed and we are working to preserve the companionability, trainability, and endearing passion of these charming dogs.
Q. & A. with Robin
Why did you start breeding?
My mom started showing when I was 5 years old so I grew up showing dogs. I knew then I wanted to do my part to better the breed.
What makes your program special?
The Lagotti is a very special breed but they need an extra amount of training and early puppy socialization ((new people, places, dogs, experiences) . You must familiarize yourself with the breed of Lagotti , the parents of the Lagotti puppy and the ethical breeder of the Lagotti . They are special dogs if you buy a well bred one with good parents and a knowledgeable breeder that cares .
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
Matched dogs
These dogs are already reserved or have gone home.

“My full time job is to raise you the best puppy of your life ..or 2 :) I spend all day and night with my dogs. We share life and love and adventures daily. My dogs are my family not exploited and neglected. COME ON PEOPLE !! You must ask questions, do a FaceTime call, don’t ignore red flags .. dogs are too important to buy a fearful sick Lagotti . Look at the Lagotto Club of America Breeder Referral list. If the breeder you have been speaking with is not listed.. ASK WHY!! Please don’t ignore warning signs because you are in a hurry . There are PLENTY of well bred Lagotti in America. My puppies are a pleasure to house train and transition. They have been handled and groomed and trained for weeks when you get them. Mine sleep all night in the crate, walk on leash, perfect to wash/nails and trim. My older dogs are more money because they are age appropriately better trained , and easy to transition into your home. My 10 week old have a great start but you have a lot of work to do …Lagotti pups need a ton of socialization and outings …new people, dogs, experiences and places ☺️ I usually have 1 year fully trained dogs to share as well which are 7000.00 and up depending of personality traits and color. The 500.00 goes toward the purchase price after we have gotten to know each other and feel comfortable taking that next step.”
