Q. & A. with Sarah
Why did you start breeding?
I purchased my first AKC registered dog in 2010, her name was Piper and she was an English Springer Spaniel. She was a natural at flushing birds and I wanted to match her with another springer that had great hunting genetics. We raised four beautiful litters from Piper and I was hooked on breeding! When I retired Piper, I began raising English Mastiffs due to my love for the breed and English breeds in general. I had always wanted a Saint Bernard when I was a child and when I became a vet tech I was introduced to a Brazilian Mastiff. At the time, I thought he was the most magnificent dog I had ever laid eyes on. This started my dive into the molosser breeds and I carefully selected the English Mastiff as the next AKC dog I wanted to bring into my home and dedicate my life to learning about. I quickly fell in love with "Brutus" my first mastiff and the foundation stud of our breeding program. After owning Brutus and experiencing the love of a Mastiff, I knew in my heart I would never look back.
What makes your program special?
Our puppies are socialized with children from the get go. They are raised in our home with a lot of love and attention. My daughters help me name the puppies and pour their little hearts into the breeding program. They help with bathing, playing, and gently handling the puppies. Our adult mastiffs also help socialize the puppies and teach them what pack life is about.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include apricot, fawn, and brindle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
