I'm Jacquelyn F., the breeder behind First Class Bassets and Bedlingtons located in Gardnerville, NV. Our top-ranked Bedlington Terriers have been available to companion and show buyers since 1995, and Basset Hounds since 1971. We are preservation breeders known for our dogs' beauty and soundness. Our dogs have excelled in all venues, from earth dog to obedience, performance work and conformation. We produce top-quality show prospects AND beloved companions from carefully planned litters. We are also proud AKC Breeders of Merit. We look forward to connecting with you!

Why did you start breeding?
Purposeful and ethical breeding is so important for the healthy progression of these breeds. Basset Hounds and Bedlington Terriers are our passion, and we are devoted to doing whatever we can to preserve, protect, and improve these incredible dogs by producing puppies of superior health, pedigree, and structure. Our priority is quality over quantity, and our puppies are placed in loving forever homes that we have reviewed carefully.
What makes your program special?
Our program is special because we are the only Bedlington breeder in the country that has had multiple successes with our dogs in AKC conformation competitions. We have finished more than 50 champions, and we bred the top-producing dog in both 2010 and 2012. We are also the only breeders authorized to incorporate the Willow Wind name, bred by David Ramsey, into the name of our dogs. We have also finished more than 60 champions with our early Basset Hound dogs. If you are looking for the perfect, quality companions in temperament, show quality, soundness, and manners, look no further!

Getting a puppy from Jacquelyn

Jacquelyn has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $1,500 - $2,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Also included are expert advice and guidance, deworming, vaccinations, Early Neurological Stimulation, and socialization. All of our puppies are the same price regardless of color gender or showability. They are all microchipped and appropriately health tested.”

Jacquelyn may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.
