I'm Bill or Maggie F., the breeder behind Freitag Kennels located in Gilbert, AZ. We strive to produce outstanding puppies that are structurally sound, healthy, intuitive and have a wonderful temperament. We do our best to begin training our puppies to prepare them for success in their new homes. We look forward to matching families with a wonderful pet. Those connections are truly rewarding. Our puppies are $2900 with a $300 non-refundable deposit if you want to get on the wait list once we confirm pregnancy.

Why did you start breeding?
Our goal is to not only produce beautiful puppies, but to help promote responsible breeding in order to ensure that the German Shepherd will continue to move forward for generations to come.
What makes your program special?
At Freitag Kennels we produce excellent companions. We understand the importance of dog health, temperament, and structure. Every breeding decision is made accordingly. We are also constantly improving our breeding program and work closely within the German Shepherd community to do so.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Bill or Maggie has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.
Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Price
Puppy prices include a $300 non-refundable deposit and $2,600 final payment, before taxes & fees.
“This price includes AKC registration, well check and first shots from a Vet. A go home bag of goodies. Puppy book comes later. $300 non refundable deposit once the pregnancy is confirmed. We do not ship any puppies. We accept Cash, or certified funds like a cashiers check or money order. No Personal checks accepted.”
Contract & health guarantee

health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps
protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you
both have a clear understanding of the terms of your
puppy purchase. If Bill or Maggie offers a contract

Angel is a female German Shepherd. Carefully selected as a great representative of her breed, Bill or Maggie decided to make her part of their program. Bill or Maggie has passed Good Dog’s screening process, which involved a review of their breeding practices, environment, and the mental and physical health of their dogs.

Honey has a very loving personality. She will give kisses to any one who will pet her. She loves the kids in the neighborhood and is very gentle with even the smallest of the kids. Honey loves to play ball and chase the birds who land in the yard. She is a happy German Shepherd with the tail wagging all the time.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Brucellosis, Temperament Test
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
