I'm Lesa D., the breeder behind Full Throttle Catahoulas located in Anderson, SC. Our dogs are bred for conformation and temperament. As well as, stamina and athleticism.
Q. & A. with Lesa
Why did you start breeding?
Our kennel will be closing once all puppies in our current litter have new homes!!! Due to my husband's health issues we will no longer be breeding!!
I purchased my first American Bully in 2008, I fell in love with the breed. Shortly after I purchased a suitable male for her and a year later I had my first litter. I continued to breed Bullies until 2014. For the sake of the breed and what it was becoming I stopped breeding them.
What makes your program special?
Having my veterinary background and the time I spent studying about breeding, gestation and whelping helps me know how to handle problems should they arrive. I specialize in selective breeding practicing. I pick what I feel is the best pair based on confirmation, color and temperament. Breed them together to produce a well rounded litter of puppies.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Parent health testing
Full Throttle Catahoulas reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Catahoula Leopard Dogs.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Congenital Deafness (BAER, registered with OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
