I'm Starr P., the breeder behind Galaxy German Shepherds located in Saegertown, PA. Our focus is to produce high quality dogs so that other families can also enjoy the love of a German Shepherd. These dogs have proven to be wonderful companions in our lives. It is a privilege to be able to share that love and friendship with others through responsible breeding.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I started researching and looking into breeding when my first german shepherd was about 2 years old. I quickly realized how much went into this! I have learned so much and grown even within our program and strive to get better and better! We love to share our love for these amazing dogs and be supportive to families as i have had some amazing mentors help me through our journey.

  • What makes your program special?

    We raise our puppies in our home & expose them to many sights, sounds and experiences before they go home. We fully vet check, microchip and spoil our puppies before they go to their new homes! We care about these dogs from the moment they are born until they cross the rainbow bridge. We will ALWAYS take ANY of our pups and dogs back when needed and provide support for the rest of the dogs life.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies have long coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include black and black and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Starr

Starr has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $2,000 - $3,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“The price always includes limited or full AKC papers, first vaccines, health certificate and guarentee by our vet, microchipped and a puppy pack. Also breeder support through it all. Deposits guarantee a pup from a specific litter or from a specific mother, non-refundable unless the breeder feels you are not a good fit or something happens to the puppy before it goes home.”

Contract & health guarantee

Starr may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. If Starr offers a contract or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them. If you have any questions or want to know more, don't hesitate to reach out to Starr directly.

  • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Temperament Test

    A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
