Why did you start breeding?
We love Keeshonden and enjoy how they have enriched our lives for more than 4 decades After titling dogs in Obedience and finishing our 5th Champion in Conformation we wanted to see if we could create great examples of the breed ourselves.What makes your program special?
When we choose to breed we are always trying to create a better Keeshond - one which conforms more closely to the Breed Standard for Keeshonden. When selecting dogs for breeding our first priority is temperament. Our puppies are whelped and hand-raised in our home, and are well-socialized before they are allowed to leave us for their new homes.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

“All of our puppies are sold on contracts with significant responsibilities for both buyers and sellers. We provide a $500 incentive for new Conformation exhibitors.”

Parent health testing

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
Brucellosis, Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
