Meet the breeder

I'm Susan G., the breeder behind Gem Dandy Jack Russell Terriers located in Emmett, ID. We are a small scale breeder located outside of Boise. We specialize in conformationally correct and mentally balanced dogs. All our dogs are JRTCA registered and we have signed the JRTCA’s Breeders Code of Ethics. Each litter is raised in our home utilizing Puppy Culture protocols ensuring the best possible foundation for great companions.

Q. & A. with Susan

  • Why did you start breeding?

We became friends with Lynn Hawley, of Forget-Me-Not Kennels. She has been a wonderful friend and mentor. We were blessed to get an exceptional male from her kennel and a year later our first bitch puppy. I spent years breeding Appaloosa horses so breeding dogs was a natural transition when we retired.
  • What makes your program special?

We have a small operation based on one outstanding stud and two exceptional bitches. Our puppies are extensions of these foundation dogs. We do everything within our power to breed beautiful, healthy and well-balanced dogs. Parents are DNA clear for PLL, SCA, DM, and HU.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
