  • Why did you start breeding?

    My Basset Hounds have brought so much love and fulfillment into my life that I decided I wanted to share them with others so that they too can experience the same joys that I've had in living my life with these wonderful dogs!
  • What makes your program special?

    Genuine Bassets is built upon a foundation of love, admiration, and respect for the Basset Hound. My dogs live in my home with me as valued members of my family. I strive to place each puppy in an enriching home that is complementary to its personality and ability, and I enjoy sharing my knowledge of the breed with others so that they can raise their new, furry companions with confidence!

Getting a puppy from Melody

Melody has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Price

Puppy prices include a $400 non-refundable deposit and between $400 - $800 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Price includes 6 month health guarantee, limited/full AKC registration, first shots, dewormings, vet check, and puppy socialization. $400.00 down to reserve puppy of choice. Remaining balance due upon pick-up.”

Contract & health guarantee

Melody may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.
