Meet the breeder

I'm Julie E., the breeder behind Ghost Dance Alaskan Malamutes located in Alpine, TX. We breed standard Alaskan malamutes, working them in harness and competing with them in conformation. Basic home requirement is a sizable fenced in yard. Must complete our full application process, including photos of your home/yard and possibly a home visit. Please expect to be on a waiting list for one of of puppies as we don't breed many litters and demand for our puppies is high. We have owned and bred malamutes for over 40 years and are happy to pass on our wealth of knowledge and will be a resource of information for the life of your puppy. We are official Alaskan Malamute Club of America Mentors, so please feel free to contact us with any questions about this wonderful breed. Life is always better when shared with an Alaskan Malamute.

Q. & A. with Julie

  • Why did you start breeding?

My husband owned his first pair of malamutes in the '70s. Our line descends from that first pair.
  • What makes your program special?

We breed a more traditional, old-style, Malamute. We don't breed to the most popular sire or who is winning the most. We breed what we consider the ideal Malamute; with health, temperament, soundness and working drive as our top priorities.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include seal and white and gray and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
