I'm Norah O., the breeder behind Glenaholm Rhodesian Ridgebacks located in Columbia, MO. Glenaholm is the oldest Rhodesian Ridgebacks kennel in the world. Over the past 60 years, so much has changed, but there is one thing that has remained constant—the Glenaholm dogs still look the same and most importantly, their superior characters and temperaments.

Why did you start breeding?
We look at our dogs and our hearts sing at the beauty they hold. We wanted to do our part to continue the line of beauty and share it with others.What makes your program special?
We have been breeding since 1947 for beauty, health and Brains The fact that our dogs have also become champions in many countries around the world is an added bonus. ORTHOPEDIC FOUNDATION OF AMERICA We actually Do do genetic health tests on our dogs which are passed by the ruling authority, OFA. Jena takes after her mother, Glenaholm Joyna, who was imported from South Africa and who has many AKC titles and is a trained Cadaver dog and is in training to be a Certified Search and Rescue dog. She is calm and caring when at home and so enthusiastic to go exploring and discover new places and smells when out in the woods. She is trained with hand signals and has excellent responses .

Hip Dysplasia , Hip Dysplasia (Preliminary)
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia (Preliminary), Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA), Dermoid Sinus (DS), Dentition, Canine Good Citizen (CGC)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
