Meet the breeder

I'm Nicole B., the breeder behind Bunn Ranch Goldens & Bernese located in Harrisburg, NC. Our dogs are bred for health, temperament, and intelligence. We strive to produce the best overall pets and family members. We offer well-rounded, healthy, high-drive Golden puppies who will excel in any adventure with their new family! Our dogs are intelligent, loving, and athletic, and they produce puppies who will thrive in an active lifestyle. We're passionate about these dogs and are careful to breed and raise our pups with only the best policies.

Q. & A. with Nicole

  • Why did you start breeding?

I got into breeeding when my son was diagnosed with autism, and we learned about the cost of obtaining a service dog for him. It was my goal to help breed and train service dogs, so they were more affordable to those in need.
  • What makes your program special?

All of our puppies are raised indoors around kids, cats, horses, and chickens. They are litter box trained by five weeks old, which helps make the potty training process. Easier when they leave. We also start crate training them prior to them leaving .
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Bernese Mountain Dog puppies are black rust and white. Golden Retriever puppies include dark golden, golden, and light golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had a truly wonderful experience with Nicole from Bunn Ranch Goldens. From the very first inquiry, she was responsive (getting back to us within 2 hours!) and open to answering all of our questions. She even set up a FaceTime call so we could meet our puppy beforehand, which helped us feel confident in making the 12-hour drive to bring home our boy, Jax. Nicole made the pickup process incredibly smooth. She sent us home with a generous supply of kibble to get us through until ours arrived and provided us with Jax’s shot records. She also checked in on us after we brought him home, which we really appreciated. Jax was just shy of 8 weeks old when we got him and now at 14 weeks, he’s grown from 7 pounds to 19 pounds! Thanks to Nicole’s early crate training, the transition went smoothly—he had some expected bumps but adjusted quickly. What’s been especially rewarding is how well-socialized and food-motivated he is. He loves kids and other dogs, and that’s a direct result of the strong early socialization Nicole provides. We can tell Nicole genuinely cares about the dogs she raises—she’s professional, thoughtful, and clearly experienced. If you're considering one of her puppies, we wholeheartedly recommend her!

I could not be happier with my experience with Nicole and my new puppy! Nicole was so accommodating and raised an absolute angel of a puppy! She responded quickly and answered every one of my questions. We went from first message to puppy in hand in 3 days ON A HOLIDAY! I would recommend Bunn Ranch to anyone who is interested in the types of dogs they offer. She came 100% house broken (so far…) and with a GREAT temperament. She has been great with kids and dogs of all sizes, very social and very curious.

Our experience with Nicole of Golden Bunns Retrievers was amazing. We purchased our very first Golden from her in 2020 and just adopted our 2nd from her in November 2023. We live in Michigan and I flew to NC on Thanksgiving morning to pick up my pup and Nicole was gracious enough to meet me at the airport with the puppy so I could make my flight back to Michigan that same day. Also, any time we contacted her with any questions or concerns, she has gotten back to us quickly and has been a great resource since we never owned a Golden prior to 2020. Both of our pups from Nicole are super smart and sweet! Thank you Nicole, we couldn’t be happier!!!

We absolutely love our new puppy! He has been such an amazing addition to our family. He came to us crate trained and already sleeping through the night, which made the transition so much easier. He was about 70% potty trained when we brought him home, and he's been picking up the rest quickly. It's clear he was well cared for and given a great start. We couldn't be happier with our experience!

I had a fantastic experience with Nicole from Golden Bunns. She was incredibly prompt in responding to my inquiry about the golden retriever puppy. I am extremely pleased with my decision to purchase my golden boy from her as he arrived already impressively smart. I was pleasantly surprised by how well potty trained and crate trained he was; which made the transition seamless and enjoyable.
