Meet the breeder

I'm Lorelei W., the breeder behind Golden Haven located in San Tan Valley, AZ. Our dogs are health tested, raised in our home, and handled daily to ensure they grow into confident, loving companions. We focus on responsible breeding practices, early socialization, and matching each puppy with the right family. Lifetime support is always provided.

Q. & A. with Lorelei

  • Why did you start breeding?

I grew up around dogs and learned a lot about breeding from my mom, who has been a breeder for years. Being a mom myself has really shaped how I approach raising puppies with patience, hands-on care, and a lot of intention. I truly enjoy being part of the process and supporting families as they prepare to bring a puppy home.
  • What makes your program special?

Our dogs and puppies are raised in our home as part of our family, not in a kennel setting. I’m involved in every stage, from pregnancy and whelping to daily handling and early socialization. I continually focus on care, consistency, and attention to detail. My goal is to give each puppy the best possible start and to support families long after their puppy goes home.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are medium size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include cream, apricot, and parti. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

Good level

Golden Haven reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Goldendoodles.

  • Hip Dysplasia

Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Vet Wellness Exam

A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • DNA Disease Panel, PRA, Golden Retriever 1

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
