Q. & A. with Stacia
Why did you start breeding?
As a farmer, I have a deep love and respect for all things great and small. I have always loved dogs and was excited to establish my Bernese Mountain Dog breeding program. I feel an overwhelming sense of joy from raising animals and working to improve and preserve their legacy.
What makes your program special?
I understand the importance of purposeful, planned and responsible breeding. In my breeding program a dog must meet criteria for health, conformation and temperament to be considered for breeding—then I work my way backwards in their pedigree, evaluating generations of documented health tests. As an animal person, I truly want to breed healthy puppies that can enjoy long, happy lives with other animal people.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
