Meet the breeder

I'm Whitney O., the breeder behind Groundwork Farmstead located in Fort Pierce, FL. We focus on health and temperament. What truly matters is a rewarding, stress-free relationship with a healthy, intelligent, hypoallergenic companion. Looks are just a bonus. Our puppies are bred to be loving family members—versatile in size, big in personality, and a joy to share your life with.

Q. & A. with Whitney

  • Why did you start breeding?

Breeding dogs is a family tradition. My great-grandmother began breeding Cairn Terriers in 1972 with dogs from England, and my grandmother and mother continued the line. Anatolian livestock guardian dogs joined our family in the 1980s to protect the farm. At Groundwork Farmstead, I’m proud to carry on both legacies with a focus on health, temperament, and purpose.
  • What makes your program special?

We’re fortunate that Dad is a veterinarian, giving us decades of firsthand experience in breeding and raising healthy dogs. That knowledge helps us make thoughtful decisions that can spare families unnecessary heartache. Over the years, we’ve had two dogs live to the remarkable age of 23. Just as importantly, our dogs are known for their kind, social temperaments, making them wonderful companions for families.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include fawn, gray fawn, and biscuit and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

I could not be happier with the purchase of Apollo from Regina and Whitney at Quiet Waters. From our first contact up to picking up the puppy Both Regina and Whitney quickly responded to any questions that I had. They were so pleasant to work with. I really appreciated how they both worked with me and were able to deliver Apollo close enough that I was able to meet them. I own a hobby farm in upstate NY and already own a female Anatolian and could not be happier with Apollo. He fit in instantly with the five other dogs here. He is a beautiful and smart dog who is picking up from the other dogs quickly. In addition both Regina and Whitney have stayed in touch after the sale. Very happy with everything.

Regina was wonderful! Our experience finding our new family member, Figgy (formerly Bridget) was great. Regina sent us photos and videos of our puppy and answered all our questions. She walked us through the entire process. I highly recommend Regina if you are looking for a healthy and happy puppy. It’s one of the best decisions we’ve ever made.

Regina is really a magnificent breeder. She's knowledgable, supportive, and you can just feel her care for both puppy and new parent. She handled every single one of my concerns and needs and helped me feel confident about my new puppy's health and happiness. The proof is right here in this loving and healthy little guy!
