I forgot to take a video of one of the fireworks desensitization sessions with this litter, but thankfully they got a true test on New Year’s Eve. We weren’t home so I was checking on them through the camera. For whatever reason the sound is distorted, but the noises you are hearing are fireworks, and as you can see other than the one puppy being woken by it, none of them were affected. Noise desensitization is just another one of the ways we strive to go above and beyond for our babies.

Leash day = tiny explorers on a mission! 🐾 The pups are learning that leashes aren’t scary—just another fun part of the world. These little steps go a long way toward raising confident, well-prepared puppies.

Is there anything cuter than puppies and ball pits? I think not.

It’s definitely not Christmas weather here in Central Texas, but these puppies are not complaining.

This is actually from earlier this month and I forgot to post. This was one of their noise desensitization sessions and as you can see, they are unfazed.

Dogs are biologically wired to raise puppies to independence, not lifelong attachment the way humans do. In nature, staying too long, actually increases risk and limits development. Mama and babies are all right where they should be at this stage in weaning. Mama doesn’t like to be with them all the time anymore, but she’s also not ready for them to be completely out of her sight so this is where we have currently found comfort. And yes, mama is every bit as content as she looks. 🩵💕

Amanda B.
Almost 6 weeks old and still stopping by the milk bar! While these puppies are well into the weaning process and eating solid food, nursing at this stage is completely normal and provides comfort, bonding, and immune support. They’re growing beautifully—confident, playful, and developing exactly as they should.

Puppy Update! Today the babies got to explore a brand-new set of sensory toys, and they loved every second of it. 🐾💗 At this age, introducing new sights, sounds, and textures helps build confident, well-rounded puppies—and these three dove right in. They were curious, playful, and so proud of themselves for discovering something new. It’s amazing watching their little personalities blossom a bit more every day! More stimulation, more learning, more adorable moments ahead. 💕🐶

About Penny
Penny is one of our sweet, affectionate girls here at Hattie’s Texas Cavapoos, and we are so excited for her first litter. She has a gentle, loving personality and thrives on being close to her people. Penny is calm, intuitive, and incredibly affectionate—traits that make Cavapoos such wonderful family companions. Both Penny and the sire carry the chocolate gene, which means we are expecting beautiful chocolate-colored puppies in this litter. Penny’s soft coat, expressive eyes, and sweet temperament are qualities we are excited to see passed down to her puppies.

We had a great experience bringing our sweet Winnie home! Amanda was very transparent and constantly communicating with me when I had any questions. She was very knowledgeable about puppies and the whole process. Blythe (now Winnie) is the cutest and sweetest puppy and she adjusted so quickly to her new home!

When searching Good Dog for a breeder, we were looking for someone who demonstrated deep knowledge and caring for both their pups and their mothers. What we didn't expect to find was that Amanda is also passionate about finding good puppy parents and ensuring that they have the education and support to ensure her pups will have wonderful lives in their new homes. In our first communication, she educated us on additional things to look for in responsible puppy breeders. Throughout the entire process, she sent us heartwarming photos and videos of Monty (Cecil), as well as frequent health and growth updates. She communicated several times a day and we learned a great deal from her, even as experienced dog parents. Amanda also provided us very concise Puppy 101 reading materials that she updates regularly. We read a few puppy books as a refresher and realized we could have also just read the bullet points she provided us! Monty came to us fully crate-trained, and exposed to a wide variety of stimuli, such as vacuum cleaners and lawnmowers. Monty was also raised indoors with positive experiences to a variety of stimuli. We opted to come pick up Monty, and were able to see that Amanda's home is a loving one devoted to both her pups and her human children. She and her pups are a member of her community, and neighbors come for supervised visits and playtime with the puppies. It makes a big difference, because Monty was immediately used to being handled by our eight year-old niece and was not timid around our extended family members. We continue to communicate with Amanda about Monty's development, and she offers that Monty can come stay with her any time we want a trustworthy and nurturing boarding experience. Amanda also provided us his mother's blanket and toy balls for a ball pit (!!!) so that Monty would have a great transition into our house. Monty is the light of our lives, and Amanda is in no small part a reason for how great he is. I cannot recommend her enough. Amanda is a shining example of why you should pick the best breeder, rather than a litter timed for Christmas or a puppy based on its photos.

Amanda was great to work with - great communication, lots of pictures and videos, flexible about pick up date. You can tell she puts a lot of love and care into her puppies. Mine came home and fit seamlessly into our crazy household because he was so well socialized and got exposure to many different sounds, people, and experiences. I couldn’t be happier or more thankful. I appreciated being able to see all of the documentation and testing on both of his parents as well.

Amanda was wonderful from the first interaction with her until after we got our puppy. She sent me tons of extremely useful information and made herself available for a FaceTime chat. I could see my puppy, where she was sleeping and playing in her home. I could really tell that she is not only knowledgeable but also super passionate about what she does. Thank you for everything, Amanda
