Meet the breeder

I'm the breeder behind Havaluv Puppies located in Spokane, WA. Welcome to HavaLuvPuppies At HavaLuvPuppies, our mission is to raise affectionate, healthy, and well-tempered puppies that become cherished companions. Our journey began with the deep love we felt for our own dogs from the moment they entered our lives. That powerful bond inspired us to take the next step into breeding—a path that has become our passion and purpose ever since. We are a small, in home-based breeder devoted to giving each puppy the best possible start in life. All of our dogs live inside our home as treasured family members. They cuddle by the fireplace, go on fun car rides, and enjoy daily affection and care. Our pups also have access to a spacious, playful backyard filled with toys, a playhouse, a slide, and even a caterpillar tunnel they absolutely love. Every part of our breeding program is built on a foundation of love, quality nutrition, and joyful living. We’re committed to the health, happiness, and well-being of each dog we raise, and we take pride in preparing our puppies to thrive in their future forever homes.

Q. & A. with Ellisa

  • Why did you start breeding?

Finding our first Havanese was a challenge, and there were no Havapoos available in our area at the time. After much thought, we decided, "Why not?" We’ve loved every moment of having them, and as a stay-at-home mom, I have the time and dedication to give them the best possible start in life. After careful consideration, we decided to try our first litter—and it was the most incredible experience. I absolutely loved it, and the kids were equally thrilled! But what truly made it all worthwhile was the response we received from families just like ours, who had been searching for the perfect puppy. Seeing how much joy our puppies brought to others was the icing on the cake, and it solidified our belief that this was the right path for our family. Each litter is unique and special to us. I stay in touch with many of the families who have welcomed our puppies into their homes, and I always remember each one. Having puppies is truly a gift, and it fills our hearts with so much joy to share that gift with others.
  • What makes your program special?

At the heart of everything we do is our family and the care we give to each of our puppies. Our parent dogs are cherished members of our household, never kept in kennels or outside, and they receive the same love and attention as our puppies. Each dog undergoes health testing and vet checks to ensure they are in optimal health, which is essential to us. I am personally dedicated to every dog in our care, both the parents and the puppies. When puppies are born, my life’s goal is to give them the best start possible. From their very first breath, I want them to know they are loved and wanted. We begin early training on pee pads, crate habits, and basic manners to set them up for success. Puppies receive veterinary care starting with dew claw removal, and again at 6-7 weeks for their first shots and a thorough puppy wellness check to ensure they’re thriving. Each puppy goes home with a mommy blanket and a goody bag filled with toys and treats to help make their transition as smooth as possible. My commitment doesn’t end when the puppies leave for their forever homes. I offer lifetime support to all families, providing guidance and answering any questions they may have. I’m here to ensure that every puppy’s journey is as wonderful as it can be. Raising Havapoos and Aussiedoodles has been my dream come true. It is truly the most fulfilling work I could ever imagine. My joy is immeasurable when I receive updates from families, knowing I’ve helped connect these incredible dogs with the people who will love them forever. And, of course, I get to spend each day with my own amazing dogs—they are my best friends. My brother likes to tease me, saying, “You know they can’t really understand what you’re saying…” But I beg to differ—they understand me perfectly!
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include chocolate and white, chocolate, black and tan, red, apricot, and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Ellisa was so responsive and made the entire process easy - from teaching me about the breed, giving me updates on Glinda's first few weeks, sending me tips and recommendations for raising a puppy, and bringing her to the airport to meet me! You can tell that Ellisa loves her puppies. Glinda has been a joy! My husband keeps saying that we hit the doggie lottery! Glinda is smart (and sassy), funny and loving. She loves to walk and run and play with everyone and has already ventured into the pool. She looks bigger than she is because of her fur, but I can still pick her up with one hand. She even listens (most of the time)!!
