Meet the breeder

I'm Tricia P., the breeder behind Haven Farm located in Weatherford, TX. Our German Shepherd puppies are born and bred with care in Parker County Texas and raised with love on our farm. These beautiful pups are excited to find their forever home! Both parents and all pups are AKC certified and come with microchips, health promise, and are up to date on vaccinations.

Q. & A. with Tricia

  • Why did you start breeding?

One of our friends saw how great our dogs were at working with our kids and animals and wanted us to have puppies she could use to train as service dogs. We have a soft spot for veterans so we partnered with her to get our first litter into training programs to work with vets as service dogs.
  • What makes your program special?

Our dogs are loved and cared for by our family and team on a daily basis so they get great socialization, love, and care!
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies have stock coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black and tan, bi-color, and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

  • Hip Dysplasia

Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Temperament Test, Vet Wellness Exam

A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
