Q. & A. with Madeline
Why did you start breeding?
I am a nurse and have always been interested in reproduction. People always approached me for puppies when they saw my dogs in shows. I am devoted to ensuring there are happy and healthy Old English Sheepdogs for others to enjoy, and do so by responsibly growing this incredible breed and continuing their phenomenal bloodlines.
What makes your program special?
My dogs and their pedigrees are known worldwide. Adhering to the national club standard for all recommended health screening tests is paramount to my dogs’ wellbeing as well as my personal integrity. I have been performing routine health checks on all of my breeding stock since 1994 and implement all of the genetic testing that has become available. In addition, I use Optimal Selection on each mother and father before breeding. Breeding healthy, happy puppies is my way to positively contribute to the line and give back to the breed and the humans who love them. I want nothing more than to see each of my dogs and puppies shine.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
