I'm Amy C., the breeder behind HGKennels located in Hotchkiss, CO. We are a small family kennel located on a gorgeous farm. We show in conformation, obedience, and agility. Our dogs are bred to be family companions first. All health testing is completed on dogs before they are considered for breeding. Temperament, breed type, health, and longevity are the blueprint we go by. We look forward to connecting with you!
Q. & A. with Amy
Why did you start breeding?
After showing dogs that I got from other breeders, I wanted to start producing my own lines. It is exhilarating, exhausting, heartbreaking, and extremely rewarding to produce well-bred dogs that excel in whatever is put in front of them.
What makes your program special?
I have a passion for excellence and healthy family pets, and I am a premier breeder of Miniature Bull Terriers. Holding myself to high standards is paramount to the well-being of my dogs and to the integrity of my program. My involvement in the show world speaks to the standards that I breed my dogs by. I ensure my dogs are healthy, have great temperaments, and are excellent representations of their standard before breeding them. I don't breed often, but I always strive to do it as responsibly as possible and to produce show-quality pups.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
