I'm Enrique R., the breeder behind High Standards Az located in Flagstaff, AZ. We are lifelong dog enthusiasts, and we’re excited to share our passion and purpose with others through our breeding program. Our dogs stole our hearts right from the start and we found ourselves wanting to get more involved. Breading and educating new families. We like to be up front with our clients and we understand a puppy is a milestone event in a family’s life. That’s why every family should consider the following cost before taking this next step.
Variable Goldendoodle/Poodle Costs
Food ($500 per year): Food expenses will vary based on the energy level and size of your dog. I could budget at least $500 per year in food expenses for your doodle.
Grooming ($400 per year): Since Goldendoodles and poodles don’t shed, you’re going to have to groom them regularly. The price to have your doodle groomed is going to be around $100 and you’ll likely do this at least 4 times a year. Grooming a doodle comes with a hefty price tag, but does include a lot of things like haircuts, nail trimming, shampoo, and ear care.
Health Care ($700 to $2,000+ per year): The cost of a doodle is quite significant when you think about health care in the form of vaccinations, surgeries, and regular check-ups. One of the most expensive health issues with a doodle is hip dysplasia. Typically, older doodles will need a surgical correction due to this degenerative change.
Training / Classes / Boarding / Daycare ($700+ per year): It’s likely that you’ll want to train your doodle by signing them up for classes. In addition, if you’re going to go on a vacation you’ll have to board your dog. The cost is usually around $100 per day to board a dog, so this expense could be significantly higher.
