Meet the breeder

I'm Amy S., the breeder behind Highgarden Borzoi located in Lancaster, OH. I am a small show and performance breeder of carefully selected Borzoi. I aspire to the breed standard with the goal of bettering the breed. I am purposeful in everything that I do regarding my dogs, which includes careful selection of breeding dogs and extensive health testing. My goal is to produce healthy dogs with great temperaments that are exemplary representations of the breed. I want dogs who can do it all - showing, lure coursing, obedience and above all providing great companionship.

Q. & A. with Amy

  • Why did you start breeding?

I started by going to events to meet breeders and research the breed. When I bought my first borzoi, and they did well in the ring and field, I was hooked! I breed to help ensure the future of the Borzoi and to improve upon my dogs' traits with each generation.
  • What makes your program special?

I try to breed dogs that can be successful in a variety of activities, and to be fantastic companions. I keep a variety of factors in mind when choosing dogs to breed, including health, temperament, structure, conformation, and phenotypical traits, so that puppies can inherit the best of both parents.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.
