I'm Miranda, the breeder behind Hilltop K9 located in Montesano, WA. We focus on the proper development of all our puppies. Each puppy is bred, raised, and loved indoors to ensure healthy exposure to human life. With our pups, beauty is a given, but producing healthy, loving, and versatile dogs is our true goal. Each puppy goes home with a part of my heart.
Q. & A. with Miranda
Why did you start breeding?
I’ve always known I wanted to breed, I just didn’t know to what scale. Currently I only have at most 2 litters a year and don’t plan to increase that any time soon. I’ve always been an animal lover but nothing compares to the joy I get from bringing puppies into this world.
What makes your program special?
Our puppies are raised on a curriculum with more of a therapy dog life in mind. I don’t expect my puppies to go on into therapy work though a couple have. I breed with their health in mind, I want to extend the average lifespan of a Bernese while also limiting their health concerns. I want my dogs to be versatile and capable of handling whatever life throws at them.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are black rust and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Miranda was wonderful to work with! I reached out interested in one of her puppies and she contacted me quickly. She was very knowledgeable on the breed and just overall a great breeder. I love her interest in making as healthy as possible the bernese mountain dog breed.
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
