I'm Melissa N., the breeder behind Hoosier Hounds located in Morgan County, IN. I'm committed to producing healthy, happy Basset puppies, and I do everything I can to prepare them for their forever families. I am a small-scale breeder, allowing me to give each of my puppies, dogs, and breedings the proper care and attention they each deserve. I am dedicated to providing happy, healthy, and well-socialized pups for others to welcome into their family. I love my pups and know you will love them, too!

Why did you start breeding?
I have always been passionate about the well-being of animals. I wanted to put my passion to good use! It's been a joyful commitment, and it is a pleasure to live with, work with, and share with others these wonderful dogs.What makes your program special?
Each of my dogs has brought so much happiness to me throughout their lives. I want to do my part to produce wonderful, healthy dogs that can bring other people joy as well, and to provide each of my puppies with loving homes where they can live happy lives.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
PawPrint Genetic Panel (Breed Specific)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
