Willows temp dropped this morning to 98.9 meaning starting labor within 24 hours. She just recently started labor tho so she wanted to go in the whelping room and lay in my lap. We’ll update when the puppies start coming.

I am really sorry for the delays of updates. I’ve been really really busy lately completing my Valkyrie costume for the Renaissance Festival and Halloween, preparing and competing at Quarter Horse Congress for Heroes on Horses, hatching late ducklings, prepping for our Halloween party and most importantly prepping for puppies!! Sooo excited for these puppies!! Willow is due this Friday so any day now! We’ve been monitoring her temperature for labor time. I’m thinking she may be a bit early. We set up her whelping room, but Gramma Chloe (Brutus’s mom) keeps taking it over lol! I think she still wants to have puppies. She’ll just have to enjoy her grand puppies. ❤️ We got Willows X-rays done last week to count puppies. Definitely count 8, maybe 9 or 10. How many pups do you see?

Ralph H.
We just wanted to let everyone know that Brutus and Willows official due date is October 17th! We are so excited for puppy time again!

PUPPY HAZARD ALERT! To everyone getting puppies, whether they’re HGR puppies or puppies from somewhere else, do NOT buy these NUBZ “edible” puppy chews! NylaBones are great as long as they are not the “edible” ones. A few years back we got them for our puppies and at even younger than 8 weeks old, they were able to bite chunks off. You can see in the one package that one broke and has a VERY sharp edge. We found small shards that were so sharp it would cut your finger. We took them away immediately but some of the puppies had bloody bowl movements as it scraped their insides. They were all fine but it could have killed our puppies. DO NOT BUY ANY CHEW TOY LABELED “EDIBLE”. Give them Milkbone type treats instead.

For those of you who have reserved puppies, we will be contacting you sometime this coming week to schedule your visit to pick out your puppies April 18-19th. They will be available to go to their new families April 26th. Also this coming week we will be doing the Volhard Puppy Aptitude testing on the puppies to better help decide which puppy is best for you. Here is a link about choosing the right puppy and all about the aptitude test. Each puppy will come their detailed testing results. https://www.volharddognutrition.com/choosing-your-puppy-pat/?srsltid=AfmBOordSwPtvss00d2yBgSbQ6r4caQGb583DUB5h8zGQU6VflYrGebV

We’re so excited to announce that Brutus and Willows litter arrived on March 1st! 8 beautiful little Golden puppies! We have 3 males and 5 females! Labor was long but delivery went flawlessly. Both Momma Willow and her pups are doing great! We will be starting them in our Super Puppy Program (in photos) this coming Tuesday.

Ralph H.
We’re happy to announce that Brutus and Willow are due to have a litter on March 1st!! We’ve had to hold off on a couple breedings due to a couple back to back foot surgeries, but now I’m recovered and can care for puppies again!! We really miss having lil pups around so we are so excited for this upcoming litter!! Let us know if you have any questions.

Golden Retriever
About Brutus
Brutus is loved by everyone he meets because of his loving and gentle temperament. He loves all the attention and belly rubs! Brutus is also a trained Service Dog. While he is working 24/7, he loves to run around our small farm, swim in our neighbors ponds, play with the other dogs and puppies, is our family snuggle bug and has been a great therapy dog to others he knows needs his help, but when the vest goes on he’s all work.
