Meet the breeder

I'm Loreen H., the breeder behind Houha Greater Swiss Mountain dogs located in Westchester, IL. I am a hobby and show breeder. I am breeding for temperament, type, working, and conformation. We are a hobby kennel located north of Chicago. All of our dogs are OFA'd for hips/elbows/shoulders and OFA eyes. I love this breed so much and love spending time bettering the breed!

Q. & A. with Loreen

  • Why did you start breeding?

When I started showing, my breed was extremely rare. My breeder/mentor asked if I would be open to breeding a litter and it was a disaster. However, I realized I was committed to these dogs and determined to make a difference.
  • What makes your program special?

The puppies I have on the ground right now are 7 generations down from my original two purchased dogs. I work hard at being available to my puppy people regardless of the age of their puppy. A strong mentor and friend. My puppies are my priority.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
