I'm Tammy K., the breeder behind Huck's Adventures located in Atkins, IA. We are a small in-home breeder in Atkins, Iowa. All our puppies come with a 2-year genetic health guarantee, first shots, deworming, microchip, a thorough vet check, 30 day trupanion insurance policy and puppy starter items. All our dogs have been DNA tested for the diseases common in their breed.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    We fell in love with the Miniature Poodles and Cavapoos. During a long road trip my husband and I decided we wanted to share these amazing breeds with others, so we purchased a Cavapoo from a breeder and purchased miniature poodles. Our dogs are our pets who live in our home. We produce one litter at a time. Our dogs are Embark Health tested.

  • What makes your program special?

    We do DNA testing on all the parents dogs, They have their OFA certifications. They are regularly groomed by a groomer and see their veterinarian on a regular basis. They are active and have free run of our acreage. We incorporate the ENS and ESI, 10 step handling & noise introductions with the puppies. The puppies are temperament tested at 7 weeks of age, Poodle Puppies are DNA tested also.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our Poodle puppies are miniature size. Cavapoo puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our Poodle puppies include apricot and red. Cavapoo puppies include merle, sable, tri-color, black and white, apricot, and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

  • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Patellar Luxation

    Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • Full Embark Panel

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
